Cool Dragon Toy Nov 26, 2010
I have the nightfury dragon toy and I wanted another dragon to fight my nightfury so I bought the Zippleback. Most people don't like the fact that he can't stand but I personally think it's cool. Very nice detail(as usual) and I like the bendable neck and tails. Wish his wings flapped though like my nightfury toy. Overall, it's a strong durable toy and it's fun to play with.

Disappointed... Nov 03, 2010
By Gilma Davis Even super glue doesn't hold the wings on anymore. :( I would recommend leaving this one on the shelf and going with the Deadly Nadder, which is the one we bought first. My son still plays with that one as well as Gronkle and Night Furey (who's wings don't stay on anymore either). Overall, these toys are just not made very well. I've had to super glue all of thier wings on (and Gronkle's head). I'm glad that my son still likes all of them though. The lack of quality doesn't seem to bother him at all, but then again he's 4. My honest opinion: it's not worth the money.

More of a collector's item than a toy May 21, 2010
By David L. Alberta I recently found this product at a local Walmart. The toy is very durable and will be hard for a child to break. However, the toy is meant to be bendable; only the heads and the back of the tail move. Plus, the Zippleback is posed in a flying motion and does not move to a standing position. Thus, if your child wants to pretend to have the Zippleback walk on the ground and terrorize other toys, forget it! Plus the wings on these dragon figures are not easy to get in, and the Zippleback's wings are really not easy to get into place! I have these dragon toys as collectibles and not for playing with. But I would say if you are a parent reading this review and considering getting this toy for your child to play with, out of the larger figures I have been lucky enough to find so far, the Zippleback would be the least fun for a child to play with due to the fact only the necks and tails move and the figure cannot be converted to any pose other than the one it's already packaged as.
Also although this toy is larger than the Gronckle toy that I have it is still not worth paying a lot of money to get in my opinion. I paid only $12 at Walmart and to be honest I would not pay much more if I had the choice. I find it ridiculous how much some vendors off Amazon and other similar websites want for these toys. If your child or collection can live without a Hideous Zippleback, save the money for the other three dragons. The toy is very nice and durable, but as I said earlier I would not pay much more than $12 to get it.
Not even as good as the "less than 5 stars" toothless Oct 10, 2010

This toy is really lacking. My complaint with the Toothless one was that the tail curves down too much for it to "stand" - if you set it on a flat surface, the front legs and tail are all that can touch the surface, it can't even stand. But at least with that, it still is a good representation, and the wings flap and the mouth opens as you squeeze the legs. This one, on the other hand, does nothing. As another reviewer said, rear legs are fused "tucked up" to the body. Front legs are fixed as well. Body and tail curve so much that the only place you can set this is on the edge of something so it looks like it's scrambling to hold on to keep from falling off. Hard even for a kid to play with since it's basically shaped like the letter C, so when pretending to fly, the tail is nearly where the head is. Doesn't look like it's flying at all.
Only articulation is in the wings, the joint where they joint he body allow for them to pivot along the body's axis so you can basically change pitch, that's it.
Even at half the price of Amazon at the local brick and mortar, this was not a good deal...
Zippleback a Flop Aug 28, 2010

We bought the Zippleback and the Night Fury. The zippering of the zippleback does not really work, unless you want to painfully sit for a long time and try to zipper it and then it still does not hold well. Its hind legs are lamely attached at the body, so you can not even stand it up. Leave this one on the shelf. Now we also got the Night Fury and this one is cool, does cool things, and entertains the kids. Both are durable. the night fury gets played with, both our kids say the zipple back does nothing and is dumb.
